ABOUT US
Conscious Vibes was opened in December 2009 on the National Trust Walk night in St. George's.
We were saddened that our beloved little town, which has UNESCO World heritage status, was being neglected and falling into a state of disrepair. Store after store was closing down at that time in St. George's. We decided that by being proactive we might make a difference and decided to open the gift store part of our store.
In June 2011 after the former Caffe Latte had remained closed and neglected for over a year, we decided to open the coffee store section of our store in partnership with a baker. In October 2012 we took over the entire store and CV CAFE was born!
Conscious Vibes Fair Trade aims to source fair trade products wherever we can. Our coffees and teas are fair trade. Our small selection of gifts are also fair trade. Where we cannot source fair trade, we use organic, Rainforest Alliance or local.
In keeping with our philosophy of ever-evolving, ever-improving in AUGUST 2015 we will be opening the TEACHER RESOURCES section of our cafe.
Surviving in St. George's since 2009 has been difficult and challenging as there has been a huge impact on economy from both internal and external factors. We have tried to change and evolve in order to stay viable. We hope that the TEACHER RESOURCES section will marry the two passions we have of supporting fair trade and also education.

BRINGING EVENTS TO THE TOWN
We have formed an events committee and encourage anyone that is interested to get involved! We have learnt that events bring life and energy to the town and it has been encouraging to see others also take the mantle in this endeavour.
The key events that we have been involved with at CV CAFE have been the OLDE TOWNE MARKET started in collaboration with Cheryl Hayward Chew, ART WALK with Ami Zanders and the ST. GEORGE'S IN BLOOM with Trudy Snaith.
In addition at the cafe itself we have had all of these (and more!):

BRINGING A TELEPHONE-BOX LIRARY EXCHANGE TO THE TOWN
Our telephone-box library has been very popular and is being regularly used by local residents and vistors alike. We ask that you leave a book in the place of the book that you take. It has worked very well and is helping to share resources and spread the love of literacy.
BRINGING YOU HERBS
We had a lot of fun helping to organize the first annua;l St. George's in Bloom competition with Trudy Snaith in 2013. We turned an old unwanted counter into planter boxes. Everyone is welcomed to help themselves to the herbs!
